The popular Malibu hangout, nearly destroyed by a massive landslide that covered parts of the Pacific Coast Highway in February, says it’s coming back.
“It’s been temporarily closed due to disruption that caused massive damage. However, once the cleanup and repairs are completed, we expect to see a reopening this summer,” said a post on Tuesday on Duke’s Malibu Instagram page.
The restaurant survived the Palisade fire in January, but was severely damaged when a powerful storm brought about about two inches of rain in the Santa Monica/Pacific Palisades area a month later.
The image showed a considerable amount of mud and debris pushed that door and wiped out the restaurant. Firefighters were initially sent to the location to clean up some of the confusion caused by the slide.

Amid some speculation, restaurants may not reopen, but Tuesday’s post assures loyal customers that they can once again dine at their favorite beachfront restaurant.
“We look forward to hiring employees and welcoming guests in the next few months. We can’t wait to see you!” the post said.
