The FBI has remained silent on whether it will fire or discipline the agents who initially told the media and the public that the shocking New Year’s Day attack in New Orleans was “not a terrorist incident.” It quickly recanted and reported the attack as a terrorist incident. Fox Digital also called the FBI news office Friday morning, but was unable to leave a message regarding the investigation because the answering machine was full.

“We will be taking over the lead of the investigation into this incident. This is not a terrorist incident,” Duncan said at a press conference.

He explained in detail that the contents were as follows: The FBI was investigating the incident as an act of terrorism.
