Authorities may have identified the cause of the 2023 fire that destroyed an airship hangar at Marine Corps Air Base in Tustin.
Fire that burned for nearly a month and spread toxic substances like asbestos and arsenic around the area could lead to an invasion the previous day, Laist reports.

Citing public records obtained from the Orange County Fire Department, Laist revealed that investigators discovered that teenagers and homeless people frequently entered the facility.
“Through this study, we were unable to rule out the use of intentional acts by one or more people, the use of warming or cooking fires by unknown people or people, or the use of open frames by one or more people for various activities for smoking, drug use, lighting, lighting, or known activities.
Cleanup is ongoing on the site, and these efforts cost taxpayers $100 million, Laist added.
