The first storm of the Southern California season has delivered snow blankets to the high deserts and mountain communities in the region, and have been dried in the past few months, and provided opportunities to play in winter activities.
According to a resort spokeswoman, Lightwood’s Mountain High Resort has gained about 12 inch snow in the past 24 hours. The aftermath of Arashi has a big business, tourism, and pleasure to the mountain community where visitors are dusty from snowboarding and skiing.
Seth Bamburg was in the snow with his 2 -year -old son, Haze. It was the first time that an infant had seen the snow.
The duo drove from Malibu to Lightwood.
“I feel a little stressed, but our house didn’t spare,” said Bamburg.
The locals were excited about the increase in snow and sightseeing.
“We are the biggest business in the town,” said John McColly, vice president of Mountain High Resorts. “When snow falls, a huge amount of traffic comes, and local towns depend on local companies, so they mean something good for us.”
Some tourists like GliberTo Garcia driven from Los Angeles have learned new skills to put a chain on tires.
“It’s difficult to do, but I’ve never experienced it,” said Garcia.
Locals say that this is just the beginning of the winter season, and you have more opportunities to experience snow.
