After being attacked by an immigrant rapist, John Featherton, a former Massachusetts immigration shelter director, is blowing away whispers about “rampinging” abuse in the Massachusetts immigration shelter system.
Featherson, who was director of the Marlborough Immigration Shelter from 2023 to 2024, said the amount of crime, domestic abuse and child neglect committed in the Massachusetts immigration shelter system “trembles.” In an interview with Fox News Digital, Fetherston revealed that he was grabbed and attacked by Haitian immigrants after he was confronted with raping and getting pregnant with his teenage daughter.
Mainwire first broke the story about Haitian immigrant Ronald Joseph, 42, and soaked his then 13-year-old daughter. Joseph repeatedly raped and soaked his daughter while staying at a government-funded immigration shelter at Holiday Inn in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

A report obtained by Fox News Digital by the Executive Office of Massachusetts Housing and Living Communities said Joseph “started screaming with great excitement” after losing access to his daughter. He should have been responsible. ”
Featherton immediately told Fox News Digital that Joseph had lost custody of his daughter, “stretching across the table to get mad at me, cursing, screaming, screaming, yelling, He screamed, and said he began screaming and screaming at me as he realized what was going on.”
“To be honest, the whole experience has shaken me to my heart,” Featherton said.

He revealed that “it’s not a shaking thrust at me,” but rather the conversation that was the most jailing.
“The conversation was probably the most unpleasant conversation I’ve ever had in my life,” he said. “His justification to have sex with his daughter, and he said it through an interpreter. He didn’t say it in English – in his country it was Haiti in his country – the woman was bleeding If she did, you could have sex with her if she had her period, and that was his justification to have sex with his daughter.”
Rather than arrest Joseph immediately, Featherson was instructed by authorities to order the immigrants to ride a Lyft to another shelter in Worcester County. Joseph was not arrested until eight months later when Marlborough police arrested him earlier this month.
“The Marlborough police came and calmed him down and actually let him move to another shelter,” he explained. “I asked the Marlborough police, and they were like this: “We’ll get it all.” It took me eight months to get it all together. . ”

The incident was particularly bad, but Featherton said there was “a lot of undocumented violence that continues,” and rape, domestic violence, sex trafficking, drug trafficking and other crimes were in Massachusetts. It is so common in shelter systems that many incidents simply fall through cracks.
“Unfortunately, it tells you that a lot is going to happen,” he said. “When I was running through the shelter, I probably should have reported more, so I just didn’t have time to do it.”

“It’s just a huge mess,” Featherton added. “I have been involved in public services for most of my adult life, elective and volunteering. I never imagined that immigrant shelters would be a mess. What are these communities and the public? I have the right to know if something is happening.”
The former shelter director said that before quitting his job, he raised concerns about widespread abuse to Gov. Maura Healy and Lt. Col. Kim Driscoll (D-Cam), but neither gave him time. Healy recently vowed to reform the shelter system and begin mandatory background checks for residents, but Featherton said there are no actual changes yet.

Despite reform promises, Congress renewed shelter funds for $425 million until June with no new changes.

“People are frustrated from top to bottom,” he said. “The governor spent more than $3.5 billion on taxpayer money alone in immigrant hotels alone. [and]…The Senate and House passed last week. [a bill] Zero reform, zero-required checks to fund this immigration program until July this year. ”
“The governor says that all this is coming,” he concluded. “In the end, in the end, there were no reforms in the package. It was an approval to fund the shelter until the end of July. It was not a reform.”
