Exclusive: Freshman Republican Sen. Bernie Moreno served as his first 100-day appointment. He spoke to Fox News Digital about his biggest takeout and what he hopes the GOP Senate can achieve in the next 100 days.

“It was a whirlwind,” Moreno said. “Obviously, President Trump is running at 100 mph, so my hope is that Congress meets the same sense of urgency and speed, and I think voters are hoping for that.”

Moreno, who defeated longtime Ohio Sen. Shirod Brown in November last year, has been busy since being sworn in.

Over the next few months, Moreno tells Fox News Digital, hoping that some of his laws will become law.

“Moreno explained, “What’s more important is the Free Transport Act.” “The automotive industry is at a truly crucial time right now. There are so many standards that can’t be met for Joe Biden and the California insanity.”

“Automobile companies are trying to figure out what kind of cars to make. So what our bill basically does is, ‘Hey, here’s a set of standards. It’s one of the national standards, and most importantly, we’ll set those standards for 10 years,” Moreno continued. “So if you’re Ford, GM or any other car company, you know, you know, what kind of car you’ll make for the next decade. That’s huge. It’s going to lower the price of a car.”

Moreno said he hopes his rules laws to address the broken asylum system will be passed and calls it “low hanging fruit” and “80-20” Republicans able to win, and will be a priority to continue dealing with illegal immigration over the coming months.

Since taking office, Moreno has visited members of all 88 counties in Ohio, participated in over 30 interviews with Ohio media, hosted over 500 Ohioans for Washington, DC component coffee, and wrote 16 letters on issues affecting Ohion.

“My opponent, the guy I replaced, Sherrod Brown, is a symbol of a politician that people hate, essentially going there for a salary and achieving nothing,” Moreno told Fox News Digital. “I think he passed like six bills that named the post office. It was the best of his 30 years of career. So we just want to do it. I’m not going to be there forever. I’m going to go for a term or two. The second is up to the Ohio voters.

For the next 100 days, Moreno tells Fox News Digital that there is a long list of things the GOP Senate hopes will be done in a timely manner, ensuring that Trump’s agenda is firing on every cylinder heading into the midterm.

“We want to get a good settlement bill that will retain Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits, but we want to cut costs for the technology we’ve implemented as a type of state-based work mandate for healthy Americans,” Moreno said. “I think most people expect that.”

Moreno also spoke to USAID about the need to cut funds.

“We can’t afford $4-50 billion with a USAID-type program, some of which are completely sane and in America we need that money to support Americans.

Additionally, Moreno said it was a priority to “codify” Doge Cuts into the law so that the cuts are “forever.”

“If we can achieve all that, if we can combine it with what President Trump has already done at tariffs, trade, peace and borders, I think we’ll see America’s golden age by the end of the year in a way we’ve never seen before.”
