Anxiousness was sparked by an ice attack in the LA area, and heavy military presence was seen early in the morning in downtown Los Angeles ahead of what would be expected to be the third day of protest.
President Donald Trump ordered thousands of National Guards to be deployed on Saturday night after being attacked early on the day that caused a devastating cycle of demonstrations. However, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the National Guard had not been deployed within the city after midnight on Sunday.
The military began arriving at the federal building in downtown around 4am Sunday, so that federal agents could be protected. It is further expanded into the Hall of Justice next to City Hall.
“It’s one thing to see the existence of heavy law enforcement, but when we have it, it’s a completely different situation. [this many] A military man in downtown LA,” said Jennifer McGraw of KTLA 5.
The rally is planned for 2pm, but the improvisation demonstration is scheduled to pop up Sunday morning.

The protest began Friday after federal agents raided around DTLA and Westlake, resulting in more than 40 people being detained, including a local union president. The tension was seen the next day in Paramount, and a large crowd quickly gathered there, and nearby Compton, where demonstrators had burned their cars.
The anxiety had spread downtown by Saturday evening, where protesters clashed with ice agents outside the federal detention center, and it is believed that some detainees are in custody.
Immigration advocate, legal representative and U.S. Rep. Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) tried to enter the facility to see people detained during the attack, but they said they were denied multiple times.
