Several Independence Day festivals have been cancelled or postponed amid larger areas of immigration enforcement, escalating concerns in Los Angeles.
The event, which boasts a fireworks show and a display of celebrations on July 4th, was affected by the raid due to the abundant attention. Over the past few weeks, brave federal operations have been carried out, urging protests that can lead to conflicts with law enforcement.
As a result, the following festival has made changes.
Gloria Morina Grand Park, Downtown Los Angeles – Summer block party has been postponed. East LA Rockin July 4th – The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation has announced that it has been cancelled this year. Summer films and concerts, Peter F. Shavalm Regional Park in Roland Heights – the series has been postponed. Palm Park in Whittier – Freedom Walk on July 4th has been cancelled. The fireworks show will still be held that night in Yorkfield. Cudahy – The city has announced that Independence Day celebrations have been postponed. Bell Garden – All scheduled events up to July 10th, including Independence Day celebrations, have been cancelled. Huntington Park – The July 4th event has been postponed.
The cities that postponed their events haven’t said when they are scheduled to reschedule them.
