If you are trying to support families affected by the recent U.S. Immigration Customs Raid or affected by local immigrant communities in need, there are many donation options, including organizations that can accept financial contributions, supply and volunteer time.
Ice attacks over the past few days have affected several communities in Los Angeles County, including the City of Los Angeles, Paramount, Culver City and Boyle Heights.
It is unclear exactly how many undocumented immigrants were affected, but the White House said federal agents have arrested 330 immigrants in Southern California and the Central Coast since the onset of Friday’s attack.
Among those deported during the attack was Jose Ortiz, who worked for the past 18 years at Aviance Apparel, a warehouse in Los Angeles’ fashion district. On Sunday, 52-year-old Jesus Cruz was taken into custody while working as a cleaner at Westchester Hand Wash. Further up the coast, ice agents reportedly appeared on farms and packaging sites from the Central Coast to the San Joaquin Valley.
The Department of Homeland Security has released a list of nine men who have said that federal agencies have been arrested and have serious criminal records.
Since the attack began on Friday, several local and local organizations have raised funds and donated items to support people whose families have been detained or already deported. This aid also goes to members of the immigrant community who live in fear of being caught up in a future attack.

YMCA
What it does: The YMCA provides care and connection to protect children, youth and community members through the distribution of food, supplies and free mental health support. The new American Welcome Center will help immigrants “preparing to be fully integrated into American society and receiving communities to be welcome and inclusive.”

Also, some YMCA locations accept fresh foods (canned food, rice, pasta), personal hygiene products, household essentials (toilet paper, laundry detergent, cleaning products), and baby and child items (formula, diapers, wipes, snacks).

Órale
What it does: Órale is currently offering Long Beach immigrant community members with legal resources and bagged groceries with additional resources in the coming days.
In 2018, during the Trump administration’s first term, the organization advocated that the city of Long Beach would open the Long Beach Judicial Fund.
The fund helped legally support 40 Long Beach residents. Orale is asking the city of Long Beach to reinvest in the program.

Esperanza Immigration Rights Project
What it does: The Esperanza Immigration Rights Project currently has staff on hand to make calls from people arrested and detained at the Adelanto Ice Processing Center and Desert View Annex.
In collaboration with the LA Rapid Response Network, the organization provides legal services for those arrested and detained, including pro bono representatives, language translation services, and referrals for bond payments.

Without you we are not
What it does: not us without you. It is a grassroots charity aimed at providing food relief to undocumented hospitality workers during the 19 pandemic.
Their work has continued ever since, and now they provide food security to 500 families each month.
How you can help: The organization is currently asking local restaurant owners and chefs to donate their meals.
