Amidst civil unrest and protests over the federal immigration attack in Los Angeles, demonstrators are preparing for separate “King’s Day” protests in a rather peaceful way.
Several “King’s Day” demonstrations are planned across the country on Saturday, flag day and President Donald Trump’s birthday. Saturday is also when the Trump administration holds a massive military parade in Washington, DC
Locals have many demonstrations planned, including in downtown Los Angeles. This was a site of devastating protests against the ice attack that led to hundreds of people arrested on various charges and the establishment of a curfew.
However, the “No Kings Day” protest at DTLA seemed to start with tranquility as they saw the two of them doing yoga on the steps of Los Angeles City Hall around 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Near the man and woman doing yoga were signs of the “king” insignia.

The Downtown march begins on Spring Street at around 10:30am on Saturday, with at least a dozen “No Kings Day” demonstrations planned throughout the day. Click here to view a list of them.
Organizers call it “No Kings Day” to show the world what “democracy really looks like.”
“From urban blocks to small towns, courthouse stairs to community parks, we are taking action to reject authoritarianism, and show the world what democracy really looks like,” reads the “No Kings” website. “The flag is not President Trump’s. It’s ours. We don’t see history happening. We’re making it.”
The “No Kings Day” demonstrations near Minneapolis were cancelled after two politicians and their spouses were shot dead on Saturday morning in a “politically motivated assassination.”
