The environmental group, which has links to anti-Israel groups, the Communist Party of China (CCP) and billionaire megadonors, is putting pressure on democratic parliamentary leaders to pursue a “no immunity” agenda for the fossil fuel industry.
“We write to encourage Democrats in the House and Senate to actively and positively reject proposals that will positively and positively reject fossil fuel companies in order to take responsibility for their role in the climate crisis.”
Signatories include Westchester People Action Coalition (WESPAC), a financial sponsor of Palestinian Judge students, a Palestinian judicial group that coordinated dozens of anti-Israel protests since the terrorist attacks on October 6th.
Fox News Digital previously reported on the financial ties between Wespac and Liberal Megadonor George Soros. Little known funding has been the WESPAC has long supported anti-Israel rhetoric, including criticizing the government for “apartheid,” “ethnic cleansing,” “group punishment,” and “war crimes,” according to NGO Monitor.

Another letter signer was the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), one of the nation’s largest environmentalist groups.
Manish Bapna, president and CEO of NRDC, is a member of the Council on International Cooperation in China, a “platform for cooperation and policy development between China and international researchers.”
Senators Ted Cruz and James Comer wrote to the Attorney General in 2023, saying they “hope to act as a mouthpiece of Chinese propaganda and take direction from the CCP or self-censorship to maintain a positive relationship with the communist regime.”

NRDC spokesman Bob Deans told Fox News Digital: “This letter asserts a simple principle: contaminants pay for the harm they cause. The fossil fuel industry should not cause the damage caused by pollution, just like any other industry.
“The NRDC is an independent, non-profit, public interest group working to combat the climate crisis and protect the environment and public health. When developing our institutional position in the United States, China, and anywhere else in the world, we do not bid for the US senior leadership and the Independent Council, as well as for this country or other governments.
The foreign-funded Group Centre for Extinction Rebellion and Climate Integrity (CCI) joined a letter to Democratic leaders.
In its 990 form, CCI promoted the idea that “climate polluters should be financially responsible for climate damages that are intentionally caused at the heart of the climate debate.”
The group, which received more than $1 million in grants from the Billionaire Fuel Rockefeller Family Fund in 2018, said it supports “a congressional investigation designed to expose the historic and ongoing climate deceptions of the oil and gas industry.”
The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, co-founded by European billionaire Christopher Horn, has made a commitment to accelerate climate action by donating $7 million to CCI from January 2018 to September 2020, supporting lawsuits that promote climate mitigation, adaptation and revival.
The Extinction Rebellion is responsible for a long list of attempts to disrupt public life for innocent bystanders, including blocking runways, blocking traffic and thwarting the Tennis US Open in 2023.
Another environmental advocacy group, 350.org, is funded by Bloomberg charity, a group owned by billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg, who became the second-largest individual donor in then-President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign in October.

The group is funded by The Tides Foundation, a group that financially sponsors the ProPalestinian Group, such as the Palestinian-led advocacy group, Adara Justice Project. Fox News Digital previously reported that the Tides Foundation has given millions of people to the liberal organisations that organized pro-Palestinian protests.
The foundation is financially supportive of several groups listed as signatories of letters to Jeffries and Schumer.
“The tide is aware of a letter sent to Senator Jeffries and Senator Schumer, holding fossil fuel companies accountable for their role in the climate crisis,” a Tides Foundation spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “Our financially sponsored projects, donors, and grantee communities hold a broad perspective, including how to maximize protection and care for our planet.”
The statement continued. “At the Tide, we value and support diverse approaches to improving equity. We work closely with our partners to ensure the guidelines outlined in our Handbook, and condemn hate speech, violence, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in any way.
