California’s leading public library system is working with Planned Parenthood to promote “sexual health resource cabinets” in libraries. These cabinets are accessible to library visitors, including unlimited children, including condoms, pregnancy tests, birth control pills, dental dams, lubricants and graphic sex education materials.
The Sacramento Public Library System, in partnership with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, began placing cabinets in 12 of the 28 libraries six weeks ago, CBS News first reported. The library system is under the jurisdiction of urban counties.
Cabinets that include Planned Parenthood Pamphlets, entitled “How to Talk to Your Kids About Sex,” also include QR codes that direct people to the clinic’s sexual health materials.

Fox News Digital did not respond from the Sacramento Public Library prior to publication.
The move warns a group of parents rights activists who say the Cabinet is offering a way to provide a way for minors to contact express content without parental consent or knowledge.

“I don’t know why I think kids should have sex. No one believes that on either side of the aisle, but they want to provide sex to people… in libraries beyond pale.”
“When parents realize this is happening in the library, I don’t think they’re going to take their kids to the library anymore. They’re not a safe space.”

According to CBS, the cabinets are sporadically located around the library, some are located open in the library’s main space, while others are located near the adult section.
Todddeck, the community engagement services manager at Sacramento Public Library, told the outlet.
Cabinets are located in libraries in Central, Bellcoeur Edge, Lobby Waters Pocket Green Haven, South Gate, Carmichael, Rancho Cordoba, Valley High North Laguna, Walnut Grove, South Natouma, Rio Linda, Fair Oaks and Sylvan Oaks.

“One thing to keep in mind is getting closer to this, like writing a book on the shelf,” Deck said. “This resource may not be applicable to everyone, but we want it to be available to those who need it.”

The library plans to expand its cabinets elsewhere.
