Police are looking for multiple hit-and-run suspects after a man was fatally hit by three Los Angeles cars on Sunday night.
LAPD said it was around 9pm when the first vehicle heading north on Lovelair Avenue struck a pedestrian on an unmarked crosswalk at Roseland Street intersection in West Dams. The car that attacked him did not stop and moved away from the scene.
After the victim had already fallen on the road, at least two additional vehicles drove north across Lovelair, running over him. Again, no drivers identifies themselves, gives assistance, or call 911 to get assistance as required by law.
It was not immediately clear how far each hit was or how long it took for medical aid to be called.
“A paramedics at the Los Angeles Fire Station responded to the scene and declared the victim who died while he was being taken to a nearby hospital,” LAPD said on its release.
As of Monday afternoon, the victim was only said to be a 61-year-old man. Police said his identity has not been released until additional family members are notified.
LAPD said it wanted to remind drivers that rewards up to $50,000 are available to community members who provide information that leads to criminal identification, arrest, conviction or resolution through civil compromise.
