Top Los Angeles prosecutors doubled his claims on Wednesday that Lyle and Eric Menendez filed a complaint in response to their defense attorneys regarding the issue of their brothers’ restinsing, thus doubling his claim that they were never fully liable for the murder of their parents.
It has been nearly 35 years since Da Nathan Hochman fired his parents, saying “The Menendez brothers are still lying,” as the district attorney’s office plans to ask the judge to withdraw their recommendations for res courts to their brothers ahead of the court hearing Friday.
“They still incorrectly insisted that on August 20, 1989, their parents would leave the family’s nest with firearms and kill them,” Hochmann said in the motion.
“This path to res is offered to the Menendez brothers, but they have stubbornly chosen to remain stubbornly covered with bunkers of lies, deceit, and denials over the age of 30,” Hochman added.
While he is bashing his predecessor, George Gascon, for failing to conduct a thorough review of the case before his brothers recommend responsibilities, the district attorney maintains the prerequisites for reducing sentences.
“In order to be truly rehabilitated, they must understand and admit the lies they have been told to hide and alleviate the murderous act,” the DA’s move said.
As he listed some of the lies that his brothers said they had not admitted yet, Hochmann said “Eric and Lyle haven’t changed,” so he didn’t rehabilitate.
Hochman also opposed the defense’s claim that the new DA’s move was “political” and said his office came to another conclusion after “a substantial reassessment of the entire incident.”
“Over 50,000 pages of exam transcripts (reviewed by the DA’s office), thousands of pages of exhibit lawsuits and prison records, hundreds of hours of videotape testimony, interviews with Menendez’s family, defense attorneys, former prosecutors and law enforcement agencies.”
The res teansing hearing is scheduled to take place on Friday morning.
