In a statement sent in an email to Fox News, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell did not deny the ship’s name change, but indicated that further name changes could come.
“Secretary Hegseth is committed to ensuring that the names attached to all DOD installations and assets reflect the commander’s priorities, the history of our country, and the spirit of the warrior,” Parnell said.
