There is a new app that allows people to track community immigration and customs enforcement sightings. This comes as several states take steps to increase participation in the Trump administration’s deportation raid.
In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis has announced a new executive division with the Florida Highway Patrol, which focuses on undocumented searching and capturing immigrants.
DeSantis recently said that more than 3,000 undocumented immigrants have been arrested in Florida since March. He further said more than 1,000 traffic stops led to immigrant concerns, and more than 160 traffic accidents included undocumented arrests of migrants.
But immigration advocates and critics alike say that the push to bring about even more anti-immigration enforcement has caused unnecessary stress for legal and even non-immigrants.

In response to the rising threat of ice, many Americans have begun using Coqui, a live map-based community alert app. People can bookmark ice, police sightings and more. Posts are anonymous and rely on community reports.
Coqui also allows users to post in either English or Spanish according to the Apple App Store list.
According to the Coqui website, user markers on the map remain visible for two days, allowing users to create up to five markers per day.
Koki also gives advice to immigrants who encounter ice.
“You need to check if it’s [Coqui] Florida-based immigration advocate Anna Lamb told Nexstar’s WFLA.
She ultimately says something is needed to protect all the migrants who are afraid to be greeted by the ice.
“What Governor DeSantis was saying is like escalating to another level,” Lamb said. “There’s concern there, because there’s a lot of racial profiling.”
The Department of Homeland Security also has apps that allow you to voluntarily self-denial. Lamb said all circumstances are different, so she advises people to consult with an attorney before making that decision.
