The longtime California lottery player and truck driver said he was not planning to quit his job after winning $7.5 million in the Scralder game.
Joel Macquarie confirmed he purchased victory tickets at Liquor, Tabacco and others at Ringstorff Avenue in Mountain View.
After snagging his “2025 Scradder,” he initially thought he had only won a few. “At first I thought it was $7,500,” recalls McAuley.

It was only when he decided to double-check and scan his tickets again on the California lottery app that he realised that McAuley had actually won the Top Award. “I looked back at the truck and took the ticket home and left it there,” McAuley said.
He said he’s not a beginner to win the CA lottery as he’s won “10K” in the 20 years he’s played.
So, what’s next for the latest billionaire? McAuley said he plans to invest his prize money, continue driving the truck and working, and stop by the store to buy more scrackers.
