The two surviving ginkgos of the famous Big Bear Hugging Eagles, Jackie and Shadow, are given their official names.
“Meet Sunny and Gizmo!” A Big Bear Valley friend posted to Facebook late Tuesday night. “After a great but long process of choosing the adorable chicks of Jackie and Shadow, the bigger chick is now named Sunny and the little one is named Gizmo.”
The FBBV held an Eagut naming contest with over 54,000 names submitted. The list was narrowed down to 30 finalists, and voted for third, fourth and fifth grade students at Big Bear Elementary School.
