Senate Republican leaders are weighing whether to cancel or shorten the order following a request to see President Donald Trump stay in town and confirm his outstanding candidate.

For the past six months, the Senate has moved at a ferocious pace to confirm all presidential candidates, facing Senate Democrat resistance. So far, 96 of Trump’s candidates have been confirmed. Still, the upper chamber calendar has 136 excellent nominations that do not follow the finish line.

Every year, lawmakers usually run off the hills throughout August, recovering from months in Washington, D.C., or selling legislative achievements to people in their hometowns.

But on Sunday, Trump called on Senate Majority Leader John Tune (Rs.D.) to get lawmakers to be in town and finish the job of confirming the majority of his outstanding candidates.

“Hopefully, the extremely talented John Tune is fresh from many wins over the last two weeks, and in fact, in six months, cancelling the boredom of August (and long weekend!) to see my incredible candidates.” “We need them badly!!! DJT.”

Thune said he spoke to the president about the boring issue in August, but he said he didn’t say whether the entire break would be cancelled. A senior GOP aide told Fox News Digital that excessive debate shortening the August break has already happened before Trump’s request.

“We’re thinking about that,” Thune said. “We want to get as many noms out of the pipeline as possible, and honestly, it’s great to have Democrats who actually act according to historical precedents on this.”

The remaining spots that need to be met run across almost every aspect of the federal government, including positions such as the Department of Defense, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Commerce, and numerous ambassadors.

Among the remaining candidates are D-Va, from the 2024 election. He has familiar faces, including Hung Cao, who was appointed Secretary of the Navy, facing Senator Tim Kane. Kimberly Guilfoyle, former fiancee of Donald Trump Jr., became US ambassador to Greece and former MP Mark Molinaro (RN.Y.), appointed as federal transport manager.

Thune accused Senate Democrats of being blockadic and noted that so far, one candidate has not been approved through a fast voice voting or unanimous consent process. In fact, all candidates are placed on floor votes. Only Secretary of State Marco Rubio received almost unanimous votes of 99-0.

Earlier this year, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, DN.Y. supported delaying all presidential candidates who lack unanimous support in the Senate, effectively triggering floor votes for each. He also used mysterious Senate procedural moves to stall federal prosecutors on the committee.

“This is something we are very committed to, and we will look at all of our options in the coming weeks to try and get all of them, across as many finish lines as possible,” Thune said.
