A Southern California mother is heartbroken after two adult children were killed in a crash crash on the Chino 60 highway.

The crash occurred around 2am on April 7th, when 21-year-old Joseph Perez and 23-year-old Jaclyn Perez were back home after visiting their Riverside mother.

Inside the car was Joseph’s pregnant girlfriend and her 8-month-old daughter, Nicole.

Jaclin lost control of the sedan and was behind the wheels when he hit the centre divider just west of the Ramona Avenue-on-ramp. The vehicle landed on a bank off the highway.

Jaclyn is killed by impact and Joseph is kicked out of the vehicle. The 8-month-old baby was reportedly found under a car, and Joseph’s girlfriend was found in dangerous conditions.

Her girlfriend was hospitalized due to injuries but survived. The baby, who was taken to the hospital, was miraculously unharmed, said his loved one.

The brother’s mother, Karen Perez, remembers the joys her children have brought to everyone they met.

“She’s always smiling, and I’m going to call Jaclyn ‘smiley’ because my son, we’re going to call him ‘JoJo’,” she told KTLA’s Shelby Nelson. “They were full of life.”

Jaclin was a young mother and wanted to become a teacher. Joseph was hoping for a second child with his girlfriend. The brothers shared an apartment in West Covina.

“I wake up every morning and call to see if she picks up the phone, and it’s just a bad dream,” Karen said.

Videos from the crash scene showed Jacklyn’s vehicles were summed. CHP investigators said Jaclin may have been speeding up at that point, even though the cause of the crash was still under investigation.

Family and loved ones remember their siblings while working to raise funds for their funeral through the GoFundMe page here.

Karen is grieving the death of her children, so she urges the driver to be safe. A memorial was set up outside her riverside home to honor the lives of her children.

Jaclyn and Joseph are survived by children, two siblings, friends and family.
