Dave McCormick, R-Pa. and John Fetterman, D-Pa. put party politics aside to support the Philadelphia Eagles in Superbowl Lix, trading friendly gambling and partisan feuds with R-Kan Sen. Roger Marshall.
The Pennsylvanian senators are fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, both of whom were “all for the birds” in the big game. Before the birds flew Sunday night, Kansas City Chiefs fan Marshall announced a friendly stake for the Senator. With the Eagles’ victory, Marshall has to wear Eagles gear and is owed McCormick and Fetterman Kansas City BBQ.
“@Rogermarshallmd, you’re there. The best team wins. I look forward to eating KCBBQ and showing @eagles gear,” McCormick replied to Marshall.
“Since you’ve won this stake, stop by @senmccormickpa’s office to get a portion of that barbecue,” Fetterman added.

While McCormick joined forces with his Democratic counterpart to support the Eagles, the Republican senator got on Air Force 1 games with President Donald Trump, Marshall and other Senate colleagues.
Trump will sign a declaration declaring “American Gulf Day” ahead of the Super Bowl on February 9th: “Another big victory”
President Trump signed an executive order on February 9th to declare it as “American Gulf Day” as the Air Force flew through newly renamed waters on his way to Super Bowl LIX. After the game, McCormick said he spoke to the president about keeping his campaign promises to Pennsylvania.
“[I] I had the opportunity to speak to him, to keep the promises I made to unleash Pennsylvania’s energy control and defend the threat of fentanyl destroying our community and reducing the cost of living,” McCormick said. Ta.

Fetterman trolled McCormick online through the 2024 Senators Campaign, calling him “Connecticut Dave.” However, McCormick and Fetterman have found a common foundation in Pennsylvania since the election. This is more than a soccer team or a friendly bet.
McCormick and Fetterman agreed to “break the bread” in January and met with their wife for dinner to discuss Pennsylvania policies.
Fetterman is one of the few Democrat senators willing to work across the aisle under Trump’s second term. He met with Trump at Mar-A-Lago and with Cabinet candidates at Capitol Hill.
