The suspect was arrested after allegedly threatening to steal a bank at Seal Beach and injure an employee.
Police have identified the suspect as Thomas Crampton, 43, of Anaheim.
On Wednesday, just after 9am, Seal Beach police responded to a robbery at Chase Bank, in the 800 block of Pacific Coast Highway.
Crampton reportedly entered the bank and asked for money from the workers. He claimed he had a gun and threatened to hurt them if they didn’t cooperate, police said.
The employee complied with Crampton’s request and after receiving the undisclosed amount, he escaped the scene on foot.
Officers arrived at the bank and began searching the neighborhood for Crampton.
