Count Sandwich’s temporary downtown Disney location is open longer than expected as construction of the upcoming Porto bakery is again delayed.
The sandwich shop currently opens in the La Brea Bakery space, originally scheduled to close on July 26th. However, employees were notified on July 25 that the closure would be postponed for at least a month, according to MiceChat and The Orange County Register.
Disneyland officials said they were excited to see the job starting with a brand new Porto bakery location, but noted that, like many projects of this size and size, several steps are involved in realizing the concept.
Once completed, Porto will be the seventh place in the bakery chain, first with sit-in table service and a full bar. The company previously announced plans to open a Downtown Disney location in 2025.
The new bakery was first announced at the 2022 D23 Expo, now known as D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Occupies the previous location of Lovelare Bakery near the Esplanade.
Porto’s bakery currently operates locations in Buena Park, Downey, Glendale, West Covina, Burbank and Northridge.
KTLA contacted Porto’s bakery for comment but did not receive a response in time for publication.
