A third eagle is approaching after Big Bear added two bald eagles earlier this week.
The third egg has a visible pip, with a crack in the shell created by a young bird.
“It has a small hole and it’s big enough that we saw a small movement inside,” she said. “My fingers crossed to get out safely.”

Jackie and Shadow of the Adult Eagles have already eaten two eagles from the shells, but they seem to be getting stronger.
At Head Start, the youngest will have to compete for food as the two eagles are in their latest siblings, but Steers said it is likely that it will be easier if the other two fed it.
“The bigger ones, they only get so much food, and Jackie and Shadow will continue to feed. So once they’re full, they can fall from too many meals and feed the third one,” she said. “They continue feeding until that third one is sufficient.

The youngest eagle will also benefit from having two older brothers who are tougher matches for each other.
“They’re busy competing with each other, so they may just ignore it. That means it’s safe, it’s caring for itself and you can get everything from Jackie and Shadow,” she said.
It will probably take a few weeks before we can establish our UK gender.
Eagut’s name is determined by a contest named by the Friends of Big Bear Valley.
