As President Donald Trump celebrated his 100th day of office this week, Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) said it had reduced at least $160 billion in waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government.
When Trump signed an executive order to set up the agency on his inauguration day, Doge set an ambitious goal of cutting $2 trillion from the federal budget.
According to the government’s Ethics Bureau, “special government officials” like masks can work for the federal government within 130 days a year. This will collapse on May 30th.
Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters Primetime had the opportunity to see Democrats opposed and Republicans saw the behind the infamous doge curtains of masks that Trump celebrated since his return to the White House this year. “Doge Boys” reminded Watters on Thursday of some of the most shocking savings secured by the department this year.

Funding to former Taliban members
Earlier this year, Doge discovered that the US Institute of Peace (USIP) had transferred $132,000 to Mohammad Qasem Halimi, a former member of the Taliban, who was former protocol chief in Afghanistan. Doge announced on March 31 that the contract was cancelled.
Harimi was detained in the United States and was detained for a year at Bagram Air Force Base from January 2, 2002. After his release, he served in several positions in the Afghan government and was appointed Afghanistan’s Hajj and Minister of Religion in 2020.

Fox News Digital reported earlier this year that national schools spent $200 billion on costs, including purchasing hotel rooms in Las Vegas and purchasing ice cream trucks.
Utah’s granite school district spent the Covid Relief Fund for $86,000 in hotel rooms for an education conference at Caesars Palace, a Litsy Las Vegas casino. The Granite School District later refused to “misconduct against educators taking part” at the Las Vegas Conference.
The cost-cutting department also revealed that the school spent a $60,000 Covid Relief Fund on swimming pool passes and that the California area used the funds to buy ice cream trucks.
“They were basically partying about taxpayer dollars,” Musk told Watters Thursday.

Millions of Sesame Street in Iraq
Senator Joni Ernst, chairman of Senate Speaker Doge Caucus and who worked closely with Musk to identify waste to reduce waste, revealed that the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has “approved $20 million to create a ‘Sesame Street’ in Iraq.”
Ernst said under the Biden administration, USAID awarded $20 million to a nonprofit called the Sesame Workshop and produced a show called “Afrancim Sim Iraq” to “strive inclusion, mutual respect and understanding of the entire ethnic, religious and sectarian groups.”
Billions of “inappropriate payments” in 2024 alone
Doge received a hand from the US Government’s Accountability Office (GAO) and released a report in March, revealing that the federal agency wasted $162 billion in “inappropriate payments.”
GAO’s analysis revealed that out of the 16 government agencies reporting inappropriate payments, 75% of the discovered waste is concentrated in five programs. HHS Medicaid $31 billion. $16 billion from the Treasury Department’s earned income tax credit. $11 billion from the Department of Agriculture (USDA) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. $9 billion from Small Business Administration (SBA) Restaurant Revitalization Fund.

Massive DEI spending within the federal government
Since his campaign trajectory and inauguration, Trump has revealed that he is aiming to reduce diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) spending in the federal government.
Doge has announced that it has cut hundreds of millions of yen in DEI contracts over the past few months.
Earlier this month, Doge announced it had partnered with the National Science Foundation to cancel 402 “wasteful” Dei Grants.
The Department of Defense can save up to $80 million in wasted spending by cutting small numbers of DEI programs, the agency announced last month.

The Department of Defense is working with Doge to reduce wasteful spending, Dod spokesman Sean Parnell said in a video posted on social media.
Parnell listed some of the original findings by Doge. Many of them consist of millions of dollars given to support a variety of DEI programs.
The Trump administration announced earlier this month that it was cutting millions of dollars from museums and library services research institutes with DEI grants as part of the entire Doge Push.
Also in February, the Department of Education said it had cancelled more than $100 million in grants for DEI training as part of Doge’s efforts.
