The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday that the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office was found guilty of orchestraping a murder group decades ago, when a Victorville man left the deaths of a Moore Park resident.
Ju judges found that 73-year-old Antoine Neimé was found guilty of murder, conspiracy and solicitation of murder related to the 2004 murder of Dennis Wood.
On April 16, 2004, Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies found wood dead in their home, injured by a bullet in the head and chest.
The case remained unresolved until investigators revealed that Wood, who owns the prepaid Tencard business, had loaned Nehme to $28,700. Rather than paying off the debt, Neme arranged for a timber murder, prosecutors said.
In 2010, an unrelated Los Angeles suspect revealed that co-defendant Alex Bracamonte killed the wood on Neme’s orders. Bracamonte, who worked at the Ojai gas station in Neme, later confessed in 2023, providing details only known to the murderer, officials said.

He pleaded guilty in May 2024 and testified against Neme at trial, the DA’s office said.
“The Ventura County Sheriff’s detective never gave up on this case,” said Senior Deputy Attorney John Barrick. “Thanks to their tireless efforts… we have secured the evidence necessary to prove this case beyond reasonable doubt. Twenty years later, they have made justice possible for the Dennis Wood’s family.”
In addition to the murder-hiring conspiracy, it was also determined that Nehme had planned the crime in detail, used great violence, and abused his status of trust in the crime.
Nehme is in custody without bail and faces life without parole in the May 20th sentence. Bracamonte is scheduled to be sentenced April 30th.
