Elpidio Reina, a suspected violent riot caught by throwing rocks on the windshield of a Los Angeles Mobile Border Patrol, was arrested Wednesday at the US-Mexico border.
The attack video is said to show Reina, who looks like a motorcycle helmet. The suspicious attack occurred on June 7th in Paramount, California, amidst an anti-ice riot in Los Angeles.
Bill Essayri, a US lawyer for the Central District of California, has released a video of violent riots allegedly being picked up at San Isidro Entry Port in San Diego. One federal officer was injured as a result of the attack.
According to the essays, he called a “dangerous felony,” he surrendered to federal authorities on the US-Mexico border to face felony charges of assault on federal police officers. He was arrested by a US Border Patrol officer inside a vehicle damaged by the attack and “may have been killed in a dangerous and reckless attack last month.”

The essay said Reina would be the first to appear in federal court on Wednesday afternoon.
“For those who think they can attack federal officials and hide behind masks and helmets, Reina’s arrest today proves that they can find and claim someone who violates federal law,” he said, adding, “Don’t touch the officers.”
Commenting on the arrest, FBI director Kash Patel said the FBI “will never tolerate violence against those who serve and protect this country.”
Dan Bongino, the deputy FBI director, also posted on X, saying, “You may remember Elpidio Reina.

“People attacking American police officers can run, but they can’t hide it,” Bongino said.
In response to ice activity in the area, violent and fiery riots erupted throughout Los Angeles for several days. The Trump administration deployed 700 Marines and quelled the riots by turning about 4,000 National Guard soldiers into Los Angeles and federal government. The move has been criticized harshly by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Mayor Karen Bass and other Democrats as unnecessary and illegal.
Newsom sued the Trump administration for deploying California State Guard troops despite his opposition. He argued that the National Guard was probably violating the rally’s Comittatas Act, banning the forces from conducting civil law enforcement in US soil.

The governor won an early victory in the case after a federal judge ruled that security personnel were illegal and exceeded Trump’s authority. The Court of Appeal threw the order and the military rule remained in the federal government. The federal court will hear debate next month on whether the military is violating the Comitatas Act of the Rally.
