The White House reportedly pulled the plug to eradicate leaks using Defense Secretary Pete Hegses’ polygraph test.
Hegseth’s current advisor, Patrick Weaver, warned senior administration officials that polygraph tests could have to be submitted immediately, the Washington Post reported. This called on Hegses to drop a lie detector test.

During President Donald Trump’s first administration, Weaver, who previously played a role in the White House National Security Council and the Department of Homeland Security, attacked potential measures.

The investigation to identify leaks within the Department of Defense began in late March with Chief of Staff of Joe Kasper’s memo, Hegseth.
“Recent fraudulent disclosure of national security information, including sensitive communication with principals in the Secretary of Defense’s indoors, calls for immediate and thorough investigation,” Casper wrote in a March 21 memo.

“The use of polygraphs in implementing this study is in compliance with applicable laws and policies,” added Casper.
The White House and the Pentagon did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

The revelation is the Pentagon’s latest controversy, enduring the “signal gate” scandal earlier this year. Despite taking place on the encrypted app, discussions about military action between Hegses and a group of top Trump officials have been leaked.
