The wife of celebrity hairstylist Fabio Cementilli has been found guilty of plotting to murder him to avoid a troublesome divorce and receive millions of people on life insurance payments.
On Friday, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced that he was convicted of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in a special situation where the crime is financially motivated and involved in “waiting.”
Monica Sementilli is a third party convicted in a famous case. Her co-defendant and lover, Robert Lewis Baker, had previously admitted to killing a popular hairdresser at her Woodland Hills home on January 23, 2017.
According to Hochman’s office, Baker sat on the patio and stabbed Fabio Semenlili and escaped from the victim’s stolen Porsche scene.
Fabio suffered stab wounds to the neck and torso, and was later found by his daughter. Detectives at the time called his murder “particularly vicious murder.”

In March, Baker, a former porn star and convicted sex offender, rose to her feet at Monica Semenrilli’s trial and allegedly liable for the murder, saying it was a crime motivated by passion.
The third defendant, Christopher Austin, called Baker’s accomplice, was convicted of second-degree murder in the case. Austin, a former Oregon parole officer, was with Baker during the fatal stab wound.
Austin rebutted Baker’s claim that Monica Sementili was not involved in the murder, and testified that she deliberately left the door unlocked for them.
“This was a crime calculated by colds motivated by greed and betrayal,” Hochman said in a news release issued Friday. “We will spread the deepest sympathy for Fabio Semenrilli’s loved ones as they continue to mourn his tragic loss.”

He thanked his prosecutor’s team and the detective who “struggled” to piece together the troubling details of a famous case for eight years, “overcoming the lies and deceptions of Monica Semenrilli and her lover who thought they had made a clean vacation.”
Monica Cementri is scheduled to be sentenced June 23 at the Clara Shortridge Fortz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Baker was previously sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole to kill her lover’s husband. Hochman says Monica Sementilli is qualified for the same sentence.
Meanwhile, Christopher Austin was sentenced to 16 years in prison for second-degree murder for his role in violent murder.
