For five weeks, Yolanda Malodi had fled the authorities.

The 53-year-old is the primary suspect in the murder of his wife, Rebecca Malodi, 49, and is the fire chief who was found stabbed and killed in a couple’s home in Ramona, California last month, officials said.

Her fugitive status ended this weekend when Yolanda Malodi was arrested in Mexico. She entered a plea of innocence to first-degree murder on Wednesday during her arrest in East County Superior Court in San Diego. She appeared in a video at San Diego Hospital. Her public defense counsel requested a bail examination hearing on April 28th.

San Diego County Superior Court Judge Peter Lynch said he accused Rebecca Malody of at least 34 times.

Yolanda Malodi is in a hospital where she is being treated for an unspecified medical problem and is transferred to prison after her release.

She was arrested on Saturday at a hotel in Mexicali’s Ferrocalil district, according to the Baja California Civic Security Office. She was taken to the US border by a Mexican national security officer and released to the former US S-Service, according to a news release from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.

Yolanda Malodi, also known as Yolanda Orangenikzak, is suspected in the death of Captain Cal Fire.

After the murder of Rebecca Malody, her friends held a “Celebration of Life” ceremony for Captain Cal Fire, who fought Eton Fire.

“She always showed up,” her friend Ami Davis told The Times. “She was always there and whatever it was, anything big or small. She took a break and helped me with my bike.

Rebecca Malodi’s death may have come after announcing the end of her relationship with Yolanda.

According to an arrest warrant filed in San Diego County Superior Court, Rebecca’s mother, Lorena Malody, told Yolanda that she told Yolanda a week before Rebecca was murdered. In the home security video, blood was seen on her back running from a woman believed to be Yolanda.

“Yolanda! Please…! I don’t want to die!” cried Rebecca, according to the warrant.

“I should have thought of that before,” Yolanda replied, standing while holding a knife over Rebecca, according to the warrant. She also had blood on her arm.

About ten minutes later, Yolanda was captured with a security camera collecting her pets and luggage and loading them into a Chevrolet equinox SUV. Yolanda drove the car, and her car was recorded by the Department of Homeland Security entering Mexico that night.

Detectives say this is the second time Yolanda Malody has killed her spouse.

In 2004, Yolanda Malody, whose surname was then Oreginiczachack, was convicted of killing her then-husband, James Joseph Oreginiczachack, according to court records. She pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter charges and spent time in prison from February 2004 to November 2013.

Prosecutors said Malody used a knife to kill him. The couple filed for divorce in May 2000, according to family court records at Vista Courthouse.
