The wife of a member of the Weezer Band was shot by police as she searched for three people involved in the Hit and Rank-Slash on the Eagle Rock highway.
Gillian Schliner, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Schliner, was injured in the shooting.
The series of events began after authorities responded to a three-vehicle accident on the 134 highway in Eagle Rock near Figueroa Street just after 3pm in the San Gabriel Valley community in eastern Los Angeles. The California Highway Patrol said the driver and passengers abandoned the car after the crash and ran near Eagle Vista Drive and Figuero A Street.

An armed woman emerges from her home on Eagle Vista Drive while searching for another individual. Officers fired the woman and were identified as Gillian Schleiner, who was hit in the shoulder by LAPD on Wednesday.
After officers responded to an incident on the 134 highway near Eagle Rock, the Hit and Rank Rush led to a shooting involving officers. Eliana Moreno is reporting NBC4 News on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at 4pm.
Schliner was arrested about an hour later and booked on suspicion of attempted murder. She reportedly pointed out the handgun to officers and failed to comply with police orders to drop the weapon, LAPD said.
According to Det. LAPD spokesman Megan Aguilar had no knowledge of the subject of the search.
She was treated for a life-threatening injury.
The identities of those arrested have not been released. Details on whether the other two individuals the police wanted were not available immediately.
