The driver responsible for fatally attacking pedestrians and driving is still loose after almost two weeks, and police are seeking community help to resolve the case.
The felony occurred around 9:20pm on May 17th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department around Vermont Vista.
A preliminary investigation has been released that a suspected vehicle, undescribed, was driving north on Figueroa Street when it attacked a woman walking at the intersection of 115th Avenue.
Details are limited, and police did not immediately provide suspicious descriptions or details, such as the speed at which the vehicle may be moving or whether drugs or alcohol were the cause.
“The driver of the vehicle continued north down Figueroa Street, fled the scene without identifying himself as required by law and rendering aid,” LAPD said in a statement.
La Fire Station paramedics arrived at the scene to treat the victim, but ultimately declared her dead.
Officials said the victim’s identity has been pending notification to the near-kind, but pointed out that she appears to be a woman in her 30s.
LAPD’s Southtraffic Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information related to the conflict to provide any information.
The department reminded the public that community members can use rewards of up to $50,000, which “provide information that leads to criminal identification, arrest, conviction or resolution through civil compromise.”
