Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard told a New York post-podcaster he believes that aliens are probably real.
Speaking about the New York Post’s “Pod Force One,” Gabbard replied “Yes” when he replied “Yes,” according to the outlet.
Gabbard, a former Democratic presidential candidate who has become a Republican, leads President Donald Trump’s intelligence reporting community and serves as his key adviser on the intelligence reporting.
Asked if there were “possible aliens” on Miranda Devine’s Pod Force One podcast, Gabbard began to respond by saying, “I have my own opinion and opinion” and “In this role, I need to be careful about what I share.”

She replied “Yes,” pushing her even further into whether she believes in extraterrestrial and UFO possibilities.
The outlet reported that Gabbard pointed out he was not ready to talk more about the issue, and she said her team said when the time came, “We continue to look for the truth and continue to share that truth with the American people.”
Gabbard also said he had “many questions” about the mysterious gusts of a drone sighting in New Jersey late last year.
At the time, US national security officials in the Biden administration tried to dispel concerns about the sightings. One FBI official described the national anxiety as a “slight overreaction.”
According to the National Tracking Group, it reported that more than 60 UFO sightings sounded statewide in the first half of 2025.

“I still have a lot of questions around it,” Gabbard said, adding, “I heard what the official line is.”
“Personally, I’m not a new jersey so there are a lot of unanswered questions because it was happening in different parts of the country,” she told the podcast’s host.
However, the DNI said there was “many classification information” in the US intelligence news community about the alleged Chinese spy balloons found flying through several states in 2023.
