There is no ice vacation due to the continued migrant raids on July 4th

On the July 4 holiday, federal agents arrested more migrants as part of an ongoing raid that rounded up more than 1,600 people to deport Southern California.

Marines are on guard as Angelenos Rally on Friday against an ongoing ice attack in front of the Edward R. Loibal Federalville.

In West Hollywood, a video footage broadcast by NBC 4-la showed immigrants and customs enforcement agents in bulletproof vests with Santa Palm cleaning agents on Friday morning. Two people who have worked in car washes for decades have been taken into custody, two other workers told the Times on Saturday.

The man whose father was detained told NBC 4-la that he had no idea what prompted the attack.

“He’s not a criminal,” the man said. “He didn’t do anything that was not expected. He came to work on July 4th.”

Officials in West Hollywood criticized the attack.

“On a day that is meant to respect the ideals of freedom, democracy and freedom from oppression, we will instead face a deeply troubling reminder of federal overreach. Independence Day should be a time of reflection and respect, not fear or persecution,” they said in a statement on the city’s website.

Federal agents also detained the food vendor in front of a target on Eagle Rock Boulevard on Friday, according to a video shared on Sheen’s social media. The Viller Stand is a long-time beloved staple in the neighborhoods of Eagle Rock, Highland Park and Grassel Park. Started by Bender’s brothers, GoFundMe hired lawyers and raised more than $16,000 a night to support Bender’s three children.

Protests continue amid the attack. Fans of the Galaxy soccer team left the stands Friday over a lack of public support for most Latino immigrants and team fans. Others who sang, chanted and performed drums and trumpets usually stood silent during the 12 minutes of the match against Vancouver. Fans also raised a flag that read “Fight ignorance, not immigrants.”

In downtown Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department made five arrests on Friday.

In a post on X, LAPD said that while most participants were peaceful, “as evening approached, the outside agitators began to cause problems.”
