A transgender woman who was violently assaulted by three male suspects earlier this year for a brutal hate crime was reportedly attacked by the same man over the weekend, officials said.
According to a news release from the LA Police Department, the latest incident occurred around 11:30pm on Saturday, causing serious injuries to the 61-year-old victim, Sabrina de La Peña.
Delapeña, who has been operating a second-floor convenience store in LA’s Westlake area for the past 30 years, spoke to KTLA after the initial violence on April 8th.
“I was screaming for help, but no one was asking for help,” she said in an interview.
In that case, police said they refused to make progress from one of the 61-year-old suspects.
“The suspect pulled away and threatened to kill the victim,” police said at the time.
The same suspect went back several more times with the other two suspects and committed a hate crime against Delapeña.

As it is difficult to see surveillance footage of the attack, one of the men rushed to hide just outside the door on a skateboard, investigators said they were brutally surprised.
“I was screaming for help, but no one was asking for help,” de la Penha told KTLA. “He takes me down the alley and starts beating me outside.”
