The owner of a tourism company in South Carte is frustrated after a burglar breaks into his business and steals multiple e-bikes.
According to LAPD, the robbery occurred on another side of South Las Enega’s Los Angeles Tour Store before 7am Friday.
At least two burglars break into the business on surveillance video by throwing something that looks like a brick in the shop window. The thieves then entered the business and took off on several e-bikes.
The owner says it’s not the first time his business has been targeted. The latest was March after rocks were thrown through the window.
“I’m heartbroken because it’s the city I love. It’s where I make a living. And it’s where I show off to everyone in the world. I’m so proud of LA. And we’re even better than this.”
Store employees tell NBCLA that the break-in was costing thousands of dollars on businesses that had started off a slow start this year.
“This is like a gut punch when you’re getting kicked when you’re down because we’ve lost a lot of business. A lot of people didn’t come on spring break because they felt like the fire had hurt the entire city,” Lipman said.
LAPD continues its investigation. In the meantime, the owner says he is considering obtaining a security gate.
