A search is being made for thieves who stole tires from Viva Grove vehicles.
At least two vehicles were targeted by burglars, and the burglars were promoted in both cases in the cinder block. In one case, the thief stole the tires of a GMC truck in the 110 block of South Hayworth Avenue.
Jonathan Gonzalez, who owns the truck that was hit, said he was frustrated at what happened.
“Low creatures,” he said. “They just took my two tires and then I woke up without any tires at all. There are no wheels, nothing. And it happened again on the same person, the same cinder block.”
In both cases, the driver’s side front and back tires were stolen. Surveillance footage shows a white van or truck blocked the driver’s side of one of the target before stole the tire.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the surgery is quick and takes about 5-8 minutes to complete. Theft occurred between 3am and 6am.
“Hopefully they’ll stop them faster. It’s a big, white van, so that’s all I know,” Gonzalez said.
The investigation is underway.
