A Riverside business owner who was working on preparing musical instruments for the New Year’s Rose Parade is asking for the public’s help in identifying two thieves who broke into his music repair shop.
Jim McElmeel, owner of JKeaa Music, was working with his team in Pasadena to maintain instruments for the annual parade when he learned his store had been robbed, the owner said. , two thieves managed to break into the store on Sunday.
“They retreated here,” McElmire said. “You can see the tire tracks. I think they cut a hole in the car before they brought it in. They came straight over, grabbed the safe and threw it over the other side,” McElmire said. “They were gone within 20 seconds.”
The two had an affair for an undisclosed amount. They banded together to hide their identities during the robbery.
“They appear to be well-covered, wearing gloves, masks and hoodies, but we have a full description of what they are wearing,” McElmire said.
Surveillance camera footage showed a sizable dent in the rear of the vehicle, a recognizable feature that Mr McElmiel hopes will lead to the arrest of the thieves.
Riverside Police are investigating the incident as a theft.
