Ted Ancona and his wife, Valerie Matthew, drove a 24 -foot recreational car on the summer trip to Alba Khaki, where the summer Sielanebada was born. Now, after the couple loses Altadena’s house on Eaton Fires, RV has given them a lifeline.
“This is our house,” said the 73 -year -old Ancona, sitting on a wooden picnic table outside the RV of Sandimas campsites. “This is the house we left.”
Ancona and MATHEWS (71 years old) fled the fire with a mixture of the wall and 14 -year -old Tabby Cat Callie. Ancona drove a car with a truck, and Matthew took RV wheels.
After a few nights in the Rose Bowl parking lot, Ancona and Matthews found a spot at the Bonelli Broughs RV Resorts and campsites in the county park. They are grateful that thousands of families who have been kicked out of Eaton and Parisade’s fire have discovered prices, bidding wars, and available houses.
However, about three weeks after the campsite, the couple faces the deadline on Wednesday. The resort is prohibited from staying for a long time.
“I’m sneaking in because I’m trying to understand where I can go,” said Matthew.
The experience of Ancona and Mathews emphasizes restricted nests that can prevent evacuees from finding a place to live while they are looking for a permanent house while they are waiting for reconstruction. Daniel Wesfield has a 108 -lot RV park grid on Lake Hughes, and his county restrictions will stay within three weeks. Wisfield asked the county officials to give up the rules, but they were rejected.
“I don’t think there is justification that people will not be in our park,” said Weisfield. “We are ready for those who have lost the house, there is a space available, and the county is literally no.”
Susan Ta, Deputy Director of the County Regional Planning Bureau, said that the grid was sitting in a very high -risk firefighting zone, and the RV parks in these areas have rules to limit their stay.

“I haven’t canceled all utility yet,” Matthews said. “I have a lot of time. You’re on the phone and sitting on hold for hours. I can’t think of it anymore by 5:00 in the evening.”
