For nearly half a century, the Venice Family Clinic Art Walk + Auction has exhibited paintings, photographs and sculptures from a mix of emerging artists and established artists, including the familiar contemporary art scenes of Ed Angels, John Bardessari, Fred Eversley and Frank Gehry.

In the 46th edition, the Venice Art Walk also draws attention to exhibitions that can be viewed (free of charge) along Abbott Kinney from May 9th to 18th.

Participants include evacuated Altadena-based artists Ben Willett, Cecilia Miguez, Casia Rico, Olivia Hill, and Kentura Davis and Louis Liv. Additionally, Gary Palmer, Mike Miller and Trevor Albert are among the exhibit artists at the evacuated Pacific Palisade.

Organisers see this year’s Art Walk + Auction as a thank-you gesture, how affected artists talk about difficulties and losses following the fire, and clinics as a way to sport their healthcare efforts following the disaster (patients, donors, neighbors and participating artists count among those affected by the fire).

But that’s just part of the show. You can also find works by over 175 artists as part of this year’s “Past, Present, and Future” theme. This starts with an honorary choice of its signature artist, Rita Albuquerque and her daughter Isabel Albuquerque, who takes a multi-generational approach to curating the events.

“We united to support our Venice neighbors, creating unique experiences, opening studios, showing art in this colorful place with canals and quirky history,” said Rita, one of the former group of light and space artists who launched a fundraising event in 1979.

“At a time when fundamental human rights are at stake, the clinic continues its legacy of support for underserved communities, including women’s generations and clinics that focus on women’s health at every stage of their lives,” Isabel added.

The auction portion of the event raises money for the community health centers serving the West Side and South Bay, but the average Angelenos simply tries to rule out the impressive artwork, so you can head to 910 Abbott Kinney Boulevard during the bid period (May 9-18). Mpagi Sepya, Adam Silverman, Kentura Davis, and more. Following the auction, the exhibition will be extended until May 25th.
