Parents are raising money after the Youth Soccer League has stolen thousands of dollars worth of gear in Santa Clarita.
The incident occurred around 2am on Sunday. Kevin Morales, founder of the Santa Clarita Youth Soccer League, woke up to the sound of smashing glasses as someone stole a truck and a trailer in his driveway at his Sand Canyon home.
Morales told the newspaper that he even tried to go outside and chase the suspect on a small work truck, but the burglar eventually fled.
Not only did Morales lose his truck, but his trailer carried multiple soccer goals, over 30 soccer balls and a custom league canopy.
A GoFundMe page has been posted that aims to raise $8,000 to replace gear.
“Kevin is more than just a coach. He is a mentor, leader and a friend of many of Santa Clarita. He coaches legendary club soccer and runs the Santa Clarita Youth Soccer League. It impacts countless children and families in the community.

The fundraiser was created by friends of Morales on behalf of the Santa Clarita football community. Because “he never asks for help on his own.”
Morales posted a message on the league’s Instagram page on Wednesday, thanking the “soccer family” for their “overwhelming” support.
