Forecasters said that much of Southern California will continue to increase the majority of Southern California, particularly in the inland regions and valleys.

NBC Los Angeles meteorologist Shanna Mendiola said he warned of high fever-related risks, saying the May heatwave could set record highs in inland cities such as Riverside and Burbank.

“We see triple digit temperatures from Tujunga to Pasadena, followed by 210 highways to Covina to Rancho Cucamonga, which increases the risk of fever-related illnesses,” Mendiola said.

Fever-related illnesses include fever stroke, fever convulsion, dehydration, fatigue, and lightheads.

“Drinking lots of liquids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying away from the sun, checking out your relatives and neighbors,” advised the NWS. Wear lightweight and relaxed clothing.
Try limiting intense activity early or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of fever fatigue and heat stroke.”

Sensitive groups such as young children and the elderly without air conditioning face an increased risk.

Heat advisories will be in effect at the Santa Clarita Valley, Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area, Calabasas, Agra Hills, San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Valley until 9pm on Saturdays.

Coastal temperatures must remain fairly calm thanks to land currents and ocean layers. And the conditions should begin cooling by Sunday.

“The high-pressure ridge will move east on Saturday, bringing cooler air from the ocean into the inland,” according to the NWS.
Sunday. ”

Temperatures could reach the 90s on Sunday in the valley.

“Much cooler temperatures” are expected by mid-week, the forecaster said.

The Pasadena Fire Department urged residents to take precautions at home to prevent the dry vegetation fires in the aftermath of the fatal Eaton fire.

People were urged to mow vegetation around the house and remove dry brushes, dead trees and other things that could be fired within the road within 100 feet of the house. Decorative planted and cultivated ground covering trees are not included.

It’s a good time to remove leaves and debris from the roof and gutters and maintain a 5-foot vertical clearance between the roof surface and overhanging tree branches. Tree branches within 10 feet of chimneys and stove pipes were removed, firefighters said.

When smoking or using charcoal grills, the department urged certainty to ensure that the fire was fully out of cigarettes and charcoal before disposing of them, firefighters said.
