Police are looking for three drivers involved in the Hit and Rank-Slash that killed one pedestrian on Sunday night in the West Adams area, officials said Monday.
At about 9pm, a driver heading north on Lovelair Avenue struck a 61-year-old man walking along a crosswalk that wasn’t east from Roseland Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
After he was hit on the street, the victim was attacked by at least two other vehicles heading north on Lovelair Avenue, police said.
None of the drivers of the three vehicles stopped and did not identify themselves or seek help after attacking the man.
Paramedics at the Los Angeles Fire Station asserted that the victim had died while he was being taken to a nearby hospital.
The man’s identity will not be released until additional family members are notified, police said.
“A driver will recall that if they are involved in a collision, they will need to be safe, notify emergency services and stop immediately as soon as they stay on the scene to identify themselves,” LAPD said in a statement.
Anyone with information will be asked to contact the South Straffic Department at 323-421-2500. Rewards of up to $50,000 are available, according to LAPD.
