First he was “knucklehead” and now he is “smart-“.
Democrat Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz said Saturday he was joking last week when he commented on Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk about the recent downward trend in the stock market.
Waltz tried to clarify his comments at the town hall in Rochester, Minnesota.
“This guy is plaguing me in a probably unhealthy way,” Waltz said, referring to the mask. “You have to be aware that I’m smart. I was kidding. These people don’t have a sense of humor. They’re the most literal people.”
“But my point is, they’re all angry and I said something that probably shouldn’t be about the company,” he continued.

Earlier in the week, the governor was holding an event in Wisconsin when he chuckled Tesla stock.
“Some people know this. On the iPhone, they have that little stock app. I added Tesla to it and gave me a bit of a boost during the day. I’ll drop it for $225,” says Walz. “And if you own it, we’re not blaming you. You can take the dental floss and pull away the Tesla’s.”
As of March, Tesla stocks had fallen 41.4% since the start of the year.

There have been a series of recent vandalism cases that targeted Tesla vehicles in protests against masks for President Donald Trump’s role in the administration.
Waltz further criticized Musk on Saturday for government efficiency, or for his role in the role of Doj. There, billionaires technology executives are trying to cut the federal workforce as a federal government’s cost-cutting initiative.

“They’re all about Tesla, but they don’t care about the disrespect shown to Minneapolis VA employees who care about our veterans. They fire them. They don’t care,” the governor said.
“Maybe it’s just me. If I’m the richest person in the world, I’m on the streets that hand out money,” he added. “It’s going to be fun like hell just to help people. Help people. Not this guy.”
