The daughter of Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz says she’s skipping graduate school in protest of lack of support for university student demonstrations.
Hope Walz announced to her followers in Tiktok on Sunday, saying she was disappointed with the institution she planned to deal with student protests.
“I applied to one school, and I had that in mind. I’m not going to name an institution, but given recent events, I’m not going to give my money, get into debt, support students, protest, or support the right to speak out for the community,” Hope said.
“Students deserve protection. I’m not worried about whether I’ll be protected at that institution. I’m a privileged white woman. But I’m not going to put myself in a position to support an institution where I don’t give money or support students,” she added.

Her announcement comes as universities across the country are working to address the often violent anti-Israel protests and spread anti-Semitism on campuses.
President Donald Trump’s administration has taken a positive stance, particularly with Columbia University, threatening to withhold federal funds if the system fails to reform to combat anti-Semitism and ramp-stretched campus protests.
