Tom Cruise broke the silence with the death of his “Top Gun” and “Top Gun: Maverick” co-star Valkilmer.
While at Cinema Con in Las Vegas, the movie star asked the crowd to join him in moments of silence to honor “every moment” and his “dear friend.” Cruise surprised the crowd of cinema owners with this appearance, further promoting his upcoming film, “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.”
“I can’t tell you how much I admired his work, how much I appreciated and respected him when he joined “Top Gun” and later returned to “Top Gun: Maverick.” He likes films and he thought a lot about us all, so I think it would be really good if we could have a moment together.

“I hope you will feel better on your next trip,” he concluded.
On the 1986 hit, Kilmer played Lieutenant Colonel Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in Cruise’s fighter pilot “Maverick” Mitchell.

“I want to say it’s pretty emotional,” he told Jimmy Kimmel during a late-night talk show in 2023.
“I was crying, I was crying. I got emotional,” he said. “He’s such a great actor, I love his work.”
Kilmer died of pneumonia on Tuesday, his daughter Mercedes revealed. He was 65 years old.
