For EA Hank, Disneyland has always been the happiest place on the planet.
However, reflecting the future in her new memoir, The 10: A Memoir of The Woth Road, Tom Hanks and his ex-wife Susan Dillingham’s daughter have admitted that her father’s inevitable death can change her perspective at a California theme park.
“Disneyland has been more constant in my life than any other house I’ve ever lived,” wrote 42-year-old Ea Hanks in the book. “I spent Thanksgiving there, I spent Christmas there, and I had more birthdays than I could count there.”
More importantly, she and Tom Hanks formed a deeper bond, where his ex-wife and dad, Colin Hanks, 47, shared with his wife, Rita Wilson, 34-year-old Chet Hanks and 29-year-old Truman Hanks.
“I can’t separate my emotional connection with Disneyland from my emotional connection with my dad,” she added.

Stepping into the park is always a sweet memory of 68-year-old Tom Hanks. In particular, his voice as Woody in “Toy Story” becomes immortal with vehicles and merchandise. (He later played Walt Disney himself in 2013’s “Saving Mr. Banks.”
“I thought it was my first time coming back to Disneyland after my dad passed away, and how to hear him when I hear Woody’s voice,” she continued. “At that moment it was as if it had already happened, and I was somehow touching my future feelings, and I opened up with emotions.”
But that was a bittersweet idea for Ea Hanks, whose full name was Elizabeth Anne Hanks, adding, “Disneyland guarantees that some of my father will live forever.”
In addition to her father’s legacy in the park, she added, “For me, it’s a monument to art for me and it’s against death.”
Patrick Schwarzenegger talks about refusing to tell his fiancé the spoilers from White Lotus and the various reactions he has received from fans.
As she said, “Walt’s vision survives, and some of his father survives. Art survives.”
Her relationship with the “Forest Gump” star is sweeter than a box of chocolate, but the dynamic ones with Dillingham were more complicated. Looking back at her upset childhood, Ea Hanks speculated that her mother was fighting mental illness.
“I told her my mother was mentally ill,” she explained in the book, “She was probably “bipolar with episodes of extreme delusions and delusions,” “I understood the night I was sitting with her with her, and my mother was sure there was a man inside the house, and was waiting for the wall waiting for our wall.
By the age of 14, she realized that her family life was “not right” and stated that “there should have been more food at home,” noting that she shouldn’t “help with her homework” and that she “should not have woken up at 3am to hear an improvised lecture on why yoga didn’t have demonic work happening in other homes.”
Fortunately, EA Hanks found support in Wilson, 68, and her brother, in addition to Tom Hanks.
“When I say my parents, my dad and Rita were together before I really remember,” she wrote. “They’ve been together since I was four or five.”
“Rita is not really a stepmother. She is my other mother,” she pointed out. “I don’t think I’m calling them half-brothers. I think they technically are. Chester doesn’t remember when I moved to Los Angeles, Truman was just born, so neither of them remembers when I wasn’t living with them. We’re a group.”
