Women’s college basketball season is over, but top prospects don’t have much time to rest.
In just a month, the WNBA will expand 13 teams and fall for the longest season yet.
The outlook will find a new home in just a few days as the team makes selections in the WNBA draft.

The 2025 WNBA Draft is set for Monday, April 14th.
Where is the 2025 WNBA Draft being held?
The 2025 WNBA Draft will be held at Hudson Yard’s shed in Manhattan, New York.
This is the fourth year in a row that the event will be held in New York City, but it will be Shed’s first time.

Leads to Top 2025 WNBA Draft

The UConn star, who won the National Championship, will undoubtedly be the first player to be selected for draft night. In four seasons with the Huskies and 123 career games, the Bueckers averaged 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.1 steals per 2.1 games.
Beyond Bueckers, there are five other top prospects to watch.
USC, Kiki Iriafen: When star sophomore Juju Watkins fell for the Trojan horse, it was Iriafen who stepped up and led them to the Elite Eight. She had 36 points and nine rebounds in the game where Watkins was injured, closing the season the following week with an average of 18 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
Dominique Malonga, France: After appearing on the French national team at the 2024 Parisiolim Games, Malonga is ready for the WNBA. The 6-foot-6 center averaged 15.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game this season to make it Asbert feminine in league feminine basketball.
Sonia Citron, Notre Dame: Teammate Olivia Miles is staying at university, so Citron stands out as the top prospect coming out of Notre Dame. She was the first team All ACC and All ACC Defensive Team in her senior season, but averaged 14.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
Anesah Morrow, LSU: Morrow led the country last season with rebounds (13.5 per game) and double double (29) and leading the Tigers to the Elite 8. She had a breakout performance with a sweet 16 with 30 points and 19 rebounds, showing off her 3-point shot and defensiveness.
Haley Van Squirrel, TCU: Big 12 Player of the Year recovered draft stock in the Horn Frog Monster Graduate Season. Playing in the third school, Vanlis averaged 17.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Her Olympic experience with 3×3 basketball is another positive.

2025 WNBA Draft Order
There are 13 teams in the league next season, and despite the addition of the Golden State Valkyries, there will still be only 12 picks in the first round of the draft.
They confiscate the first round of picks as they find themselves violating league rules regarding unacceptable player benefits and workplace policies.
The Dallas Wings have their first pick after winning the draft lottery, followed by Seattle Storm and the Washington mystics. Mystic has a third first pick in League High, followed by two wings and the sun.

The WNBA has announced its 2025 season schedule. This includes the opening game between Kate Linklark and Angel Reese in the 2024 draft pick, as well as the first game for the latest expansion team, the Golden State Valkyries.
