President Donald Trump has been suggesting for weeks that Canada will become the 51st state in the United States, with disagreeing about whether Trump is serious or simply trolling his neighbors, but Justin Trudeau The Prime Minister reportedly said that it was the former.
In a closed meeting between Canadian business and Labour leaders, Trudeau reportedly declared that the ambitious purpose of Trump’s annexation was “real.”

News media had been asked to leave the room before Trudeau put up a comment, but the CBC and Toronto stars were able to hear and record them.
“The Trump administration not only knows the number of important minerals we have, but that’s why they continue to talk about absorbing us and keeping us at 51st. Maybe it is,” commented people in the room who heard about him. “They are very aware of our resources, what we have and are very hoping to be able to benefit from them.”
Gil McGowan, president of the Alberta Labour Federation, confirmed what Trudeau said in a post on Social Platform X.
“Yes, Trudeau can confirm that his assessment said that what Trump really wanted is not action against fentanyl, immigration, or even trade deficits. “Taxes are a tactic towards that goal. ”
Trump first threw out the idea at a dinner at Trudeau and Mar Arago in late November. Trump has also proposed annexing Greenland.
Canada has over 40 million people living there and is a NATO partner established. It is a country rich in natural resources that provides the United States with products such as oil.
Trump has long said Canada and Mexico have failed at anything sufficient to prevent the flow of illegal immigration and drugs, particularly fentanyl.

Canada will not be “51st state”, ambassador protests amid Trump’s tariff threat
Last weekend, Trump repeated his suggestion to absorb Canada again.
“We’re going to pay hundreds of billions of dollars to subsidize Canada. Why? There’s no reason,” Trump wrote in the Society of Truth. “We don’t need anything from them. We should have unlimited energy, we build our own cars and have more wood than we can use. This massive subsidy is Without it, Canada will no longer exist as a viable country. It’s tough, but true!”
“So Canada should become our precious 51st state,” Trump added. “Much lower taxes, and much better military protection for Canadian people – no tariffs!”
However, Trump agreed to suspend tariffs for 30 days on Monday after a call with Trudeau.
Trudeau said Canada will implement a $1.3 billion border plan and appoint Emperor Fentanyl. Additionally, Canada will reinforce borders with new helicopters, technology and personnel, and will strengthen coordination with US authorities. He added that nearly 10,000 staff are and are working on protecting the border.
“We will list the cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 views at the border and launch a joint Canadian-US strike to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering,” Trudeau wrote in X. It’s there. We will support organised crime and fentanyl for $200 million. ”

The US imports about 60% of its crude oil from Canada, and Alberta alone supplies 4.3 million barrels per day. According to the U.S. Energy Information Agency, the U.S. consumes approximately 20 million barrels per day, and domestic produces approximately 13.2 million barrels per day. This means that about a quarter of the oil the US consumes every day comes from Canada.
Canada is the top export destination of 36 US states. Every day, $2.7 billion worth of goods and services cross the border.
Meanwhile, Canada is home to dozens of minerals that are thought to be important for use in a variety of industries, including batteries, solar panels and semiconductors in electric vehicles, according to the New York Times. Commonly recognized examples of important minerals include lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite and zinc.
