More than dozens of immigrant judges were fired on Friday, coinciding with President Donald Trump’s promise to settle the federal workforce.
Union officials told The Associated Press that 13 judges and five aides’ chief judges who were to be sworn in were fired without warning on Friday.
The move comes after two other judges were rejected this week, the Associated Press reported. No alternatives have been announced.

Fox News Digital reported that the US immigration court backlog has surpassed 3 million pending lawsuits.
Currently, immigration judges are on average 4,500 pending cases each, according to Syracuse University’s Trade Record Access Clearinghouse.
The Associated Press reported that five Supreme Court officials have been replaced by the Trump administration, including Mary Chen, the agency’s representative director.

In a memo released on January 27th, Sirce Owen, acting director of the Justice Department, said the Biden administration “strictly undermines” the core values of the Bureau of Enforcement for Immigration Examination (EOIR) “I did.”
“Efforts to restore these values and reestablish Eoir as the model’s administrative arbitration body is on track,” Owen writes. “There is no limit to what Eoir can achieve if all employees are willing to participate in the effort.”

The Trump administration on Thursday directed agencies to fire most probation workers without protection from civil servants, the Associated Press reported.
The International Federation of Professional Engineers, representing federal employees, and the U.S. Department of Justice’s Enforcement Office for Immigration Examination, did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital on Saturday.
